Built real-time allocation and quality automation

Matasma engaged with the customer to set up real-time allocation and quality automation, delivering efficiency and optimisation

Challenges

Global supply chain issues, such as semiconductor shortages, can impact production and delivery.
  • Managing a Project Management System (PMS) for handling 500+ projects annually and over 50,000 tasks per month
  • Bulk task uploads for multiple projects simultaneously were not supported in the existing solution
  • Significant manual effort was required each month to calculate quality task metrics.
  • Redundant quality tasks and duplicate issues were frequently created, making it difficult for quality reviewers to manage and review efficiently.

Our Approach

01
The existing excel based planning process was cumbersome, often taking up to 3 weeks to develop rolling forecast.
  • Optimized the system architecture for resource allocation to efficiently handle a high volume of tasks while minimizing memory usage
  • Segregated quality-related tasks from other tasks to enhance processing speed and overall system performance
  • Enabled the creation of both project-level and task-level issues with categorized inputs to streamline issue tracking and metric calculation
  • Adjusted data granularity from daily to weekly for improved system efficiency, ensuring daily updates while generating weekly snapshots for historical insights

Delivered Outcomes

Global supply chain issues, such as semiconductor shortages, can impact production and delivery.
  • Implemented real-time project creation and dynamic resource allocation for activities
  • Built bulk task uploads for multiple projects via CSV without limitations
  • Minimized duplicate issue creation by allowing multiple category mappings for the same issue
  • Automated EIS score calculations to reduce manual workload for quality reviewers
